eco-HUB Solutions
The CEC eco-HUB (Energy | Control | Operations) is our remote technical management and support centre for our customers’ building portfolios, whether a single location, a major campus or a vast national retail estate. Leading-edge technology is combined with technical engineering expertise to deliver best-in-class customer solutions.
We remotely connect to and manage your BEMS infrastructure and the associated building services assets, providing a range of value-add customer solutions that improve operations, asset life-cycle and energy efficiency whilst significantly lowering costs.
We do this through robust and reliable remote connectivity, established from our eco-HUB to each individual building and BEMS installed, through a variety of connectivity techniques.
This remote connectivity allows the eco-HUB to directly monitor, manage and control energy-consuming assets, thus allowing our technical engineers to deliver optimal building comfort conditions whilst doing so with the most energy-efficient controls methodology.
Our customers rely on the eco-HUB and our team of technical experts to support their site operations and supply-chain partners, analyse and resolve issues quickly and efficiently, implement energy conservation strategies that improve environmental credentials and bottom-line costs, whilst fully evidencing all of these activities in an auditable way.

24/7/365 REMOTE TECH. SUPPORT
Our Remote Technical Support seamlessly interfaces with building users, engineering and maintenance teams or out-sourced Facilities Management providers with faults and other issues being managed, investigated and rectified quickly and efficiently.
In situations of plant and equipment failure, our priority is always to ensure the safety and security of our customer’s locations, whilst minimising disruption.
In the majority of situations, this can be achieved remotely, but where a further engineer or specialist attendance is required at site, our eco-HUB staff will assist and guide them through the issues. This again saves time, money, disruption and avoids multiple site visits.

CRITICAL ASSET ALARM MONITORING
Our customers’ sites transmit a vast array of alarms from the various building technology systems they have installed. It’s important to understand and prioritise those that are business-critical and be able to react instantly.
Systems can be configured to relay business-critical alarms directly to the eco-HUB, where they are immediately assessed 24/7/365, with appropriate resolution and escalation procedures implemented per agreement.
Our centralised alarm management platform ensures that all alarm data is stored within a common user interface, which also hosts all associated site-specific process, procedure and escalation information.

ON-LINE CONNECTIVITY MGT.
It’s vital to regularly test that site communications are fully functional, as ‘off-line’ sites can, and inevitably will suffer from performance drift over time. This will impact building user satisfaction, comfort and cost.
Our connectivity management process is both pre-scheduled and fully automated, only requiring human intervention when an alarm is raised identifying an issue with site connectivity.
This granularity of information greatly assists in the identification of problem sites in order that more robust communications can be planned and implemented.

SECURE SOFTWARE BACK-UP MGT.
Poor software management is a very common issue across large-scale estates. There are multiple contractors, suppliers and specialists accessing the systems, each with their own approach, level of compliance and diligence that key information is almost bound to get lost.
At CEC, the eco-HUB acts as the gate-keeper and custodian for your entire software library, ensuring that all stakeholders adhere to the same common processes.
This simple, yet highly effective approach ensures each and every site is always operating to the latest software version, critical updates and security patches are in place and strategies are optimised for performance and efficiency.

SECURE CLOUD BEMS HOSTING
Our remote servers will maintain and host your site BEMS front-end supervisor graphics for you and provide secured https:// access for your end-users just as if the supervisor PC were installed on the site(s).
User access control is automatically deployed via our proprietary solution so only those users that have the right permissions to access certain areas of the BEMS and make changes are able to do so.
Any / all remote connections and site graphics managed and administered as part of our service are diligently secured so that amendments and alterations are recorded and auditable.
REMOTE ENERGY SITE OPTIMISATION
Remote Energy Site Optimisation probably provides our customers with the highest Return on Investment of any of our services.
A lack of adherence to operational policy and controls strategy will inevitably mean that sites are running inefficiently, resulting in higher energy and operational costs, higher emissions and lower comfort standards for the building users. Our eco-HUB activities directly rectify this.
We deliver and then continuously refine the intelligent alteration of system strategy, parameters and settings to ensure all connected BEMS assets only operate when required.

ENERGY DRIFT MANAGEMENT
Proactive investigation of high energy-consuming sites with tangible, results-driven actions that maintain the site’s optimal energy and operational performance.
Root-cause identification and resolution of the energy waste will be identified via remote connectivity to the site BEMS or by our expert Energy Solutions Consultants engaging with site staff (managers, engineers, in-house or third-party maintenance teams and even specialist supply-chain partners).
The details of investigation/resolution are then recorded in our eco-HUB or customer system and a report issued to the client at a frequency as agreed detailing the cost avoidance figures.

SITE OPERATIONS EXCEPTIONS MGT.
Our customers don’t operate their businesses and therefore their buildings in a uniform way. There are many factors that influence variability such as public holidays, promotions, business volumes, and as we’ve seen in 2020, even global pandemics.
If our clients and by extension, the CEC eco-HUB aren’t agile to those changing needs then comfort conditions will be impacted or energy waste will occur.
Our eco-HUB will ensure that where building occupancy is reduced, energy consumption is also reduced and where occupancy is increased, the building comfort conditions are not unduly compromised as a result.

REMOTE ASSET MAINTENANCE
The most effective method of maintaining the BEMS assets across large estates is through a combination of remote and site-based maintenance activities.
Our eco-HUB technicians undertake comprehensive remote diagnostic testing on sites and associated plant to highlight operational defects prior to scheduled site-based PPM regimes.
Assets undergo rigorous performance-based testing using a series of simulated parameter changes implemented in real-time using the BEMS to determine efficiency and capacity with results captured in an easy reference report.

ENERGY LOAD MANAGEMENT
Incorporating Demand Side Response (DSR), Load Shedding and a variety of other energy tariff-driven technical site manipulations, our eco-HUB services are designed to save your business money – lots of money!
Remote deployment of global asset changes are designed to reduce your building/estate non-essential energy usage during peak electricity charging periods or high-stress events as notified via National Grid alerts. (e.g. TRIADs)
Our ability to intelligently and rapidly reduce a building or estate energy consumption allows our clients to make substantial consumption (kWh) and cost (£) savings without fear of compromising operational or comfort requirements.
